PCM Client Feedback & Testimonials

Search Criteria: Reduces Problem Behavior

"We are an independently owned facility that provides behavioral programming for adults and children with challenging behaviors. When we started the program 4 years ago we looked for a method of data collection that would be cost effective, would give us options in the data presentation, and would decrease the amount of time we had to spend in data analysis or data entry. Several systems did not meet our three points of criterion; cost effective, user friendly and allow us different options in the data presentation. When we reviewed the CARES system, it fulfilled all three requirements. Since we have started using the system we have been extremely pleased with the service and the program. Whenever we have issues or questions they have been readily available and have always returned our calls within 24 hours. They have made adjustments to the program based on our feedback and we have yet to present them with a request that they could not accommodate or present us with a viable alternative. Based on the level of service and competence we would strongly recommend PCMA software solutions to any behavioral facility."

"I coordinate our agency's PCMA training courses. Participants frequently tell me that the BehaviorTools course is the best training they have ever received! Administration has said that the course has improved staff members' ability to interact with consumers in a positive and respectful way, and they reported improvements in staff/consumer relationships. In turn, consumers are often observed to have more positive behaviors at home and in their various programs. This training improves consumer and staff quality of life."

"Our public school system provides instruction for 50,000 plus students. the Student Response Team provides consultation for up to 5% of that population, many of whom require crisis management and intervention. PCMA has trained staff from our school system for 12 years and as a result, there has been a dramatic reduction in crisis behaviors."

"For 35 years, I have served as a consulting behavior analyst for schools, residential programs and hospitals. In 1991, I began recommending Professional Crisis Management. Programs reported many fewer client and staff injuries. In my opinion, PCM provides the most effective and humane procedures for avoiding and stabilizing crisis situations."

"I have been providing behavioral services to a diverse array of disability groups for the past 25 years. I have been certified since 1989 and board certified since 2003. As a Behavior Analyst, I have a deep appreciation for the principles incorporated throughout PCM that have a teaching versus punitive basis. The focus is on building and maximizing relationships, preserving human dignity, and keeping individuals free from pain using the least restrictive procedures... The pro-active approaches are what sets it apart. There have been numerous times during application in various facilities when I have directly observed the behavior of individuals being shaped into more appropriate repertoires through the use of PCM procedures...Thank you PCMA. You have made a difficult job a whole lot easier."

"A small portion of the students at my school would have no other option with regard to education if we did not use PCM. Through regular teaching and Behavior Improvement Plans, in addition to being able to professionally respond to crisis behaviors, these individuals have an opportunity to continue their education."

Sean Tarrant
Behavior Analyst

"Since we started using PCM, the quantity of restraints has decreased. There's rare occasions that we even have to use the physical crisis management because the prevention and de-escalation is so beneficial."

Jennifer Rainey

"I have noticed a decrease in the amount of physical management that we have used since beginning PCM. In my experience, it works well."
