"The (Palm Beach County) school district annually trains approximately 375 staff in initial PCM procedures and re-certifies approximately 450 staff. In my 16 years as a PCM instructor, which includes 15 years in my current position, no students or staff have been injured implementing PCM procedures. I am very familiar with other restraint procedures; in fact I was a certified trainer in others. I do not think that any other crisis management programs are as safe, effective, or implemented with the individual's dignity in mind. PCM is a complete crisis management system in which the verbal de-escalation is as important as any physical interventions. PCMA staff are always available via telephone and e-mail to answer any of our questions or to provide assistance...It is without hesitation that I would recommend Professional Crisis Management to any school district or institute that has exceptional students with various degrees of dangerous behaviors."

Pamela R. Tepsic
Director of Special Education

"I have noticed a decrease in the amount of physical management that we have used since beginning PCM. In my experience, it works well."

Erik Albaugh
Home Manager

"Having been an instructor for another crisis management system, I can truly say that PCM is superior in all physical and non-physical procedures compared to any systems I've trained or been trained in, or, for that matter, any I have researched."

Paul Gavoni
Behavior Analyst

"The Mt. Pleasant Center is currently using the Nexxus Gate, LLC Incident Management System and Restraint Tracking System. These programs have been a life saver! They have saved us an enormous amount of time in entry, tracking and report building. The ability to export the information into a word document has allowed the data and reports to be shared quickly and accurately with the persons and committees that need the information to continue to improve the quality of the services we provide to our residents. The personal service received for adapting the program to meet our needs has been excellent. Nexxus Gate exceeded all expectations for speed, accuracy and a true understanding of what we needed the programs to do! "

"I was becoming frustrated with my field of work, but when I began receiving PCMA trainings, I rediscovered what I loved about my job. I'm now the Program Manager of my facility and a certified Instructor in all PCMA courses (PCM and Behavior Tools). PCMA gave me focus and direction."

Matthew Arnold
Program Manager

"I have been working in the field of human services for 30 years and have had the pleasure of collaborating with and using the services of PCMA on a number of occasions. While PCMA has grown from a small practice to a national company over the last 25 years, they have maintained integrity and a commitment to excellent services. In my experience, no other company providing crisis management and behavior analysis services compares to PCMA with respect to ethics, quality, expertise and standards of practice."

President/Clinical Psychologist

"I wanted to let you know that I have been, and continue to be, extremely impressed by the integrity with which the Professional Crisis Management Association conducts both their clinical training and the customer service aspect of their business. Whenever someone asks me about Professional Crisis Management training or the Professional Crisis Management Association, I tell them in all honesty that I feel that the organization is run by people who genuinely respect other people (practitioners, clients, trainees, patients, etc.). As a Professional Crisis Management Instructor, it is nice to be a part of a company that conducts business and clinical practice with high ethical standards. You all are doing an excellent job maintaining an impressive and dignified reputation."

"A small portion of the students at my school would have no other option with regard to education if we did not use PCM. Through regular teaching and Behavior Improvement Plans, in addition to being able to professionally respond to crisis behaviors, these individuals have an opportunity to continue their education."

Sean Tarrant
Behavior Analyst

"As the CEO of a large organization that provides intensive behavioral services, safety and cost effectiveness are of great importance to me. After switching to Professional Crisis Management from our former crisis management system, we have experienced a tremendous decline in staff and consumer injuries. Professional Crisis Management has already saved my company $20,000 in workers compensation costs this year and allows us to provide the safest and least restrictive environment for our consumers. "

Cory Royer
CEO

"This was an exceptional experience. The PCMA instructor trainer was thorough, precise, and captivating. I feel very prepared and very confident in implementing procedures. Two thumbs up! I would recommend PCMA to any organization who serves individuals with developmental disabilities and who display problem behaviors. PCM is the best program that I have experienced to serve the needs of our clients with dignity and respect."

Robin Meyers
Assistant Principal

"I have been a trainer in CPI, Safety Care, TCI, Mandt, and Professional Crisis Management. I can say with 15 years of experience implementing each of these procedures, that Professional Crisis Management is by far the most effective methodology in keeping folks safe, and decreasing crises. It also is the only form of crisis management that has peer reviewed publications evidencing demonstrated reduction in restraints, injuries (both to staff and consumers), and promotes pro-active procedures to reduce the likelihood physical intervention is needed. Also, with Professional Crisis Management, there are no pain causing holds, or any holds that hold the person off balance, or put undue pressure on joints."

Travis Blevins
Executive Director

"My organization has used PCMA's consulting services to develop and implement a group behavioral incentive system, to provide consultations for individual students and to train our staff. The behavior analysts from PCMA were professional, knowledgeable, and skillful. They provided us with excellent services that were well worth the investment. I would recommend PCMA's consulting services without hesitation to any organization that wants effective programming that get results."

"I just wanted to tell you how much the staff enjoyed taking (the BehaviorTools) course where I work. We have instructed 4 classes so far, and our staff has approached us to tell us that they learned a lot. When I first saw your class advertised, I was hoping to find a training tool that would really help direct care staff to deal more effectively with challenges they face each day at work. Your approach to teaching about coercion and alternative strategies was clear and respectfully presented to your audience in the DVD. The three basic tools were also presented very clearly and staff enjoyed the role play scenarios. We added some of our own role plays that were based on the clients we serve at our agency. Thanks again for taking the time and putting forth the effort to create such a wonderful teaching tool."

Christine Drake
BCaBA/Assistant Director of Behavioral Services

"PCM has been great for our organization. The tools and skills that we have been taught greatly increased the level of care that we have been able to give to the children and families that we serve."

Dustin Groen
Support Supervisor

"I have had very positive experiences using PCM. The number of physical restraints have decreased while staff interactions have been more skillful and positive."

Walter Hall

"In our program alone, this course (BehaviorTools) has already touched the lives of many through staff interaction with consumers and parent interactions with their children. I truly believe these tools can change the world, one interaction at a time."

Tristan Marriott
Program Supervisor

"We have been using PCM at Behavior Services of Brevard since 1998 with great results. The criterion-based training allows us to assess staff performance both during and after crises, facilitating immediate after-incident feedback. Since opening our Intensive-Behavioral ADT in 2003, we have had no known consumer or staff injuries from utilizing PCM in crisis situations, even though we work with some of the most behaviorally-challenged individuals in our county. This has cut our workers compensation costs dramatically. In our experience, the value of PCM far outweighs the nominal cost of training. The peace of mind is free. "

Dr. Karen Wagner
Director

"After working 30 years in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis, this is the only training which I recommend to others, and the only one in which I became a certified instructor. The focus on maintaining the comfort and safety of the individual is key, as are the aspects of Applied Behavior Analysis which are fully incorporated into the overall training strategies."

Tom Freeman
Area Behavior Analyst

"Having worked with Dr. Merrill Winston on a recent case, I can attest to his extensive knowledge of behavioral analysis and crisis management, commitment to his profession, and impressive work ethic. If you are seeking an expert in these fields who will offer a thorough and honest review, rather than parroting your theory of the case, I would certainly recommend contacting Dr. Winston. "

"For 35 years, I have served as a consulting behavior analyst for schools, residential programs and hospitals. In 1991, I began recommending Professional Crisis Management. Programs reported many fewer client and staff injuries. In my opinion, PCM provides the most effective and humane procedures for avoiding and stabilizing crisis situations."

Patrick McGreevy
Consulting Behavior Analyst/Ph.D./BCBA

"I coordinate our agency's PCMA training courses. Participants frequently tell me that the BehaviorTools course is the best training they have ever received! Administration has said that the course has improved staff members' ability to interact with consumers in a positive and respectful way, and they reported improvements in staff/consumer relationships. In turn, consumers are often observed to have more positive behaviors at home and in their various programs. This training improves consumer and staff quality of life."

Kathy Powers
Resource Development and QA Supervisor

"In our district we have 26 trainers certified to instruct Basic BehaviorTools courses. Our trainers really enjoy training BehaviorTools! Since being trained last year, we have facilitated a total of 14 classes. We currently have 15 dates on the calendar for the upcoming school year and plan to add more classes. Our staff who have taken the training made many positive comments. One thing we hear is that it is the best training they have ever been to! People who have not been to the training are interested in attending because of what they hear from others. I think what makes the BehaviorTools awesome is the fact that it teaches staff what not to do and what to do. It breaks down the information into small bits. The practice and role play help staff learn how to use what is being taught. Having the instructor on the video helps ensure the classes are consistent and uniform. We are really looking forward to being trained and training the second BehaviorTools course!"
